The Kuskovo estate is the 18th-century unique cultural monument, one of the earliest samples of the Russian summer country residences. The estate was built on a commission of counts Sheremetev and was intended for lavish entertainment events, populous theatrical performances and festivities. Its main construction, the palace, has entirely preserved original architectural features, as well as interior design and interior decoration. Halls and rooms are richly decorated with gypsum and papier-mâché elements, mirrors and gilding. All of the fireplaces are gorgeously finished with ceramic plates, stucco moldings and tiles.
